Holly Springs house fire
Holly Springs house fire

Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina and Fairview fire departments battled a blaze Monday at 508 Morton Farm Road in Holly Springs.

The fire was reported at 2 p.m., Mark Andrews, a spokesman for Holly Springs said.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. Andrews said the homeowners were on the way back from a trip to Charlotte when the fire department reached them.

The home is a total loss, firefighters said. They had not yet determined what started the fire.

So, so, sad. I was one of the ones who called 911 & watched the firefighters battle the blaze- unfortunately, the fire spread so quickly that there wasn't much they could do for it. I took my kids by the house after school to further drive home the point that if there is ever a fire to GET OUT. Leave everything behind and just GET OUT. I'm still in shock over how quickly the fire tore through the house. I'm so thankful that no one was hurt.

WRAL- Are there any updates as to what caused the fire?
