print friendly

Sheriff's deputies charged four students Monday morning after they allegedly assaulted a fifth student at Orange High School as classes resumed following the holiday break, Orange County Schools officials confirmed.

Details of the incident were being sorted out, schools spokesman Mike Gilbert said. The fight brought several deputies to help the school resource officer about 8:30 a.m.

No information was immediately available about what charges were filed or the defendants' names.

8:30am? School doesn't start until @ 8:45.Can't help but wander if the fight was in the student parking lot and would not be a bit surprised.Parking permits cost $75.00 and there's no parking attendant even at the gate this year. This is after someone drove into the lot in 2006 & started firing rounds off into the lunch crowd! A deputy can do but so much alone.C'mon Orange County.Use the property tax increase to help protect your local kids.

Four on one sounds like a gang attack. Any bets on whether a prosecutor will pursue that aggressively?

Orange Co. is no worse then any other public school in NC they all have their problems. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Yea Right Not Orange Co,,,
