Group protests Israeli air strikes

Durham residents protest Israeli air strikes

A group of Triangle residents opposed to the Israeli air strikes in Gaza demonstrated in Durham Saturday.

Protesters at Main and Gregson streets chanted, "Free, free Palestine."

"Our common humanity with them does not end at a waters edge, at a border fence or at a barrier wall," event organizer Rachael Derello, of Durham, said. "They are us, and we are them. We will not be separated, and we will not be divided."

Leaders from local Jewish and Palestinian communities attended the event.
