Samaria, N.C. — State troopers said that ice caused single-vehicle wreck in Nash County that killed a Zebulon man early Saturday.
Stanley Massey, 63, was going south on Bryantown Road, near N.C. Highway 97, when he crossed a bridge covered in ice around 3:30 a.m., troopers said. Massey lost control of his vehicle, and it hit a tree.
Massey died from the impact, troopers said.
Troopers said alcohol was not a factor in the wreck.
