Raleigh, N.C. — Mark Valentine, the president of Yancy's, Inc., is being sued for not paying rent, according to court documents.
Valentine was renting a condominium on Fayetteville Street in the same building his popular restaurant Yancy’s used to operate, according to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit, which is one side of a legal argument, claims Valentine owes more than $10,000 in rent.
This summer Valentine pleaded guilty to failing to pay his taxes.
Yancy’s closed in July after two years in business. The Cajun restaurant filed for bankruptcy protection earlier this year.
