Hillsborough, N.C. — A malfunctioning vehicle that pulled off the highway Friday morning started several brush fires, authorities said.
The brush fires scorched various patches between mile markers 155 and 161 on Interstate 40/85, authorities said. Fire departments from Mebane, Efland and Hillsborough put out the fires.
