Asheboro, N.C. — Wilhelm, the North Carolina Zoo's polar bear, was able to do something a little different on New Year's Day – romp in the snow.
The park used its new snow machine – attained through private funding through the N.C. Zoo Society – to cover the exhibit in snow, according to park officials.
The machine will be used throughout the winter when temperature and humidity conditions allow, officials said.
