Raleigh woman charged with shooting boyfriend

Raleigh, N.C. — Police arrested a woman Wednesday night after she allegedly shot her boyfriend in the stomach.

Officers charged Michelle Joines, 42, of Raleigh, with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury and filing a false police report.

The shooting happened around 11 p.m. at her house at 5800 Neuse Wood Drive, according to authorities.

Emergency crews took her boyfriend, Paul Allen Boyd, to Duke Raleigh Hospital. He was expected to survive.

Police said Joines told them that another person shot Boyd with a Taurus .38-caliber revolver, which authorities say was untrue.

On the more serious side.. I had a sister that was in a abusive relationship and she was very sweet as well until it killed her. I hope they both get the help they need... "Happy NEW Year"

This woman is a family friend. She is the sweetest woman you will ever want to meet. It has to have been an abuse case.

We don't know what happened and shouldn't judge yet. She owns that house.. Could easily be a stalking situation, just as it could be cold blooded violence.

What a sweetheart.. Bet you wish she was your girlfriend.. I have to wonder what pushed her to do such a thing (if there was a reason that is). What a sad comentary of what this country is coming to when all we see or hear about is violence and tragedy.
