Authorities accused a Fuquay-Varina woman of allowing an alleged child molester to live in her home.

Cassandra Fessler, 39, faces two charges of child abuse and one charge of assault on an officer.

Investigators believe that Fessler allowed the the man to stay in her house against orders from Child Protective Services, according to her arrest warrant.

The warrant says that Fessler punched a detective and kicked him in the groin when he tried to take her into custody.

She was being held in the Wake County Jail late Tuesday.

I think this beautiful lady must suffer a slight mental disorder. I hope she gets the help that she needs. And just because the man living with her was a convicted sex offender doesn't mean that he shouldn't be allowed to live where ever he wants. He has confessed his sins and sent them up to God. Only God can judge us.

what kind of mother is she?? she doesn't deserve the privilege of having children. omg poor kids, hope they have some loving, caring family to care for them.

I find it amazing that some people on here are standing up for the poor child molester needing somewhere to go!!! Hmmm... methinks they might be sympathizing because they've "been there...??!"

Fundybasher I agree with you 100%. I do not like being told what to do in my house by anyone if it is not illegal. Since when did it become illegal to have someone live in your house that was not breaking the law? Is it now illegal for a convicted child molester to live in a house with children? What happens if they themselves have children? I'm betting some on here have lived with molester and not known it as it may not have come to light yet. Why don't we arrest the people they lived with after the fact? This is a slippery slope that I'm sad to see us going down. If the person was still a menace to society then they need to remain incarcerated. If they have been let go then they should not be hounded for the rest of their lives.

so the government can tell a private citizen who may or may not live in their home? and people support that?

i think a lot of the posters on here would probably be content living in North Korea. This is - or was - a free country.
