Everybody wants to take advantage of living next to a city but nobody likes to pay their way. NC's annexation laws may be unfair but the reason is irresponsibility of those living outside the cities. I have no sympathy for the Gates 4 crybabies.

Being these people use city services and do not want to pay city taxes, one of the first things to go should be use of city streets. Fayetteville police need to be placed at the entrance way to keep them off of the streets they do not want to pay for. Let's see how you people in Gates Four like them apples!

Cry me a river. FYI for those not familiar with Fayetteville, Gates Four is a closed gated community that houses alot of wealthy people in Fayetteville. There are surrounding residential areas, which have already been annexed that house "regular" people. If Gates Four successfully dodges annexation, then all of the surrounding areas, which were annexed more than 2-3 years ago, should revert to the county as well. Just because you make a heap of money doesn't mean that you should receive special consideration. If you don't want to be in the city, then sell your homes and move elsewhere.

Of course it's for tax revenue. Why else would they annex you?
