Raleigh, N.C. — Legendary beach music singer Jackie Gore is recovering from a car wreck that happened while on his way to a concert Saturday night.
Emergency crews treated Gore at Duke Raleigh Hospital for a fractured vertebrae. He returned home in a neck brace. His recovery is expected to take weeks.
Gore is the lead singer of "Legends of Beach" – a group composed of eight musicians, including five former members of the group "The Embers."
Gore helped write The Embers' big hits “I Love Beach Music” and “Summertime’s Calling Me."
