Fire damages Cary house

A fire damaged a house on Kilmory Drive in Cary Sunday morning, Wake County dispatch officials said.

The fire broke out at the two-story wood-frame home at 1232 Kilmory Drive, near Southwest Cary Parkway and Old Apex Road, around 10:15 a.m.

The fire was started by a lamp that was left on in the attic, investigators said. The second floor of the home was destroyed by the flames.

No one was home during the fire.
