Services held for high school basketball player

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Funeral services were held Saturday for a North Carolina high school basketball player who died after collapsing during a game.

Khalid Prince, 15, of Winston-Salem collapsed Dec. 2 during a game between his Parkland High School team and North Surry High School. He died last Saturday at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

Forsyth County medical examiner Dr. Patrick Lantz told the Winston-Salem Journal that an autopsy showed Prince had an inflammation of the heart muscle that sometimes causes irregular heartbeat or heart failure.
