Raleigh, N.C. — Raleigh police opened a homicide investigation after finding a man's body in woods off the 4800 block of Thornton Commons Drive Friday morning.
Investigators identified the man as Anthony Markice Bowling, 18. He had been shot, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.
Around 9:30 a.m., police received a call about a deceased person and located Bowling's remains in an overgrown, wooded area, Sughrue said.
Police continued to ask for the public's help in solving the case. Anyone with knowledge that might assist the investigation was asked to call detectives at 919-996-3555.
Thornton Commons Drive is east of Capital Boulevard in the north end of the city.
