Smithfield, N.C. — A Kenly man facing a felony charge related to food tampering after being caught on a Web cam performing a sex act in his former colleague's office made his first court appearance Friday morning.
George Harold Jones, 68, of 1209-C Abednego Road, was detained earlier this week on the charge, which is based on General Statutes Section 14-101.11, which prohibits anyone from knowingly distributing any edible substance that contains any other substance that could be damaging to another person's heath.
Paula Parrish, an administrator at Johnston Community College, where Jones used to work, said she installed a Web cam in her office that captured Jones masturbating in her office last December and, afterward, touching various items on her desk, including gum.
Jones, who was a maintenance worker at the college, retired after Parrish filed a complaint with the college. He said Monday that he was embarrassed by his behavior and that he does not know why he did what he did.
"You really don't know why you do things like that in your life," he said. "I'm truly sorry."
Jones was out of jail Friday afternoon on a $5,000 bond.

Do you know why? Because it's the only thing police could even drum up to charge him with. Once the issue was pushed into the media, the PD was pressured into charging him with something to avoid looking bad. While he definitely did something WRONG, whether or not he did something ILLEGAL is another story altogether. And before you say it, I don't care what's on the tape - I can guarantee you that no matter what's on there it's not going to be any more illegal than what everyone already knows.

only a woman could entirely relate. sadly there are some women who wouldn't care. guess that could also depend on their professional position in life, and if this happened to them, or a close friend. prevention is the cure and when there is none, things like this can happen. the master key he was given for his job purposes was not intended for this sort use. he didn't go in her office to change a light bulb. she locks her door when she goes home. if she wanted it left cracked open she should have that say, not him. she is repsonsible for the property in that office. please give me a reason to understand, "his side" the web cam speaks for itself
