Body found in Raleigh woods

Raleigh police on Friday afternoon were investigating the scene where a body was found in woods off of the 4800 block of Thornton Commons Drive.

Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said police received a report early Friday and discovered human remains in a wooded area.

Thornton Commons Drive is east of Capital Boulevard in the north end of the city.

The identity of the body is being withheld pending notification of family, Sughrue said.

No further details were available.

well you've got me curious antonio, as i live less than a mile from where this body was found. pretty sure this had nothing to do with the minor mva this AM though.

There was an accident it front of Sunbelt Rentals, not Thornton Rd. IT was a tap, no damage to either car. BUT someone was carried out in neck brace and stretcher. I smell someone faking injuries.....

there goes the neighborhood.
