Durham, N.C. — Durham police are expected to finish an investigation this week into whether officers posted derogatory remarks about President-elect Barack Obama on their Facebook pages, City Manager Tom Bonfield said.
Bonfield said he had not seen a report on the investigation. He said he expected Police Chief Jose Lopez to release that report.
Bonfield said he expects the officers' comments, posted on the social networking site, to be made public.
The president of the Durham chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has asked that the officers' comments be made public and that the department discipline any officers found to be involved.

So it was alright for all those people who said "Kill Bush" over the past eight years though right? I dare you to Google and see how many hits come up for "Kill Bush" and let me know where all your outrage was then! Just because a man has a different color does not make saying the same things worse. People need to make up their minds about free speech being equal. I have no idea why in a "Free Speech" Tunnel saying Kill Bush is less worse than Kill Obama. I have no idea what this officer said but the hypocrisy is out of control now.

Should speech that incites hate and violence be protected? I mean, stupid talk is one thing that we probably all do at one time or other, but what about serious "hate and death" instigators?...that wear a badge. A mental image of the Klan aligning with back woods sheriffs suddenly comes to mind.
