Fayetteville, N.C. — Firefighters putting out a blaze discovered a body in a house along Montclair Road early Sunday, Fayetteville police said.
Officers were dispatched to the house fire at 845 Montclair Road around 3:20 a.m. Upon arrival, they found the house completely engulfed in flames. Firefighters arrived shortly after and quickly extinguished the blaze.
While inside the home, firefighters discovered a body. Police said they are working to identify the body, and have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the fire and death.
The home on Montclair Road lies in a residential area off Raeford Road, between the All American Expressway and Skibo Road.
