A former manager of a Raleigh fast-food restaurant is facing charges that he fried up more than burgers.

Earnest Sennet, 34, is accused of setting fire to a bank bag belonging to the Cook Out restaurant on Western Boulevard.

Police charged that he did it to hide his having stolen more than $5,000 from the bag he was supposed to deposit in the bank.

As times get harder there have been more of these kinds of stories of otherwise law abiding people taking desperate, foolishly misguided risks to make ends meet. This is very out of character for this decent young man. It may sound funny for you make jokes about but it is really just sad.

It was just a bank bag full of poo. He lit it on fire and then ran the bank doorbell.

Look out potential employers, this guy will always be one step ahead of you. Maybe one day he can run his own crime syndicate.

That guy waited on me once. I wonder if he pocketed the money for my Peanut Butter Fudge milkshake? Hmmmmm. Probably. But Cookout rocks!

The old spontaneous combustion alibi? Poof!!
