Site SearchHickory, N.C. — A student at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory has died, the school reported Wednesday.
Harrison Kowiak, a sophomore from Tampa, Fla., died off campus as a result of an accident, according to a statement from the school.
He was taken to a hospital by other students Monday night, and later airlifted to Charlotte.
Kowiak was a member of the golf team and Theta Chi.
Investigators with the Caldwell County sheriff's office were talking to fraternity brothers and other friends, trying to gather information.
