Fayetteville, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies have arrested three men wanted in North Carolina and four other states on theft charges.
Deputies arrested Yasmany Martinez, 30, Pedro Pablo Aguila, 42, and Jose Manuel Olivera, 36 – all from Miami – after a traffic stop on Interstate 95 in Cumberland County Monday afternoon.
The men were traveling south in a 2004 silver Dodge Durango when deputies stopped them for a routine traffic violation. Deputies searched the vehicle and found 299 cell phones, still in their boxes.
Authorities traced the phones to two breaking and entering cases that happened in Fairfax and Chesapeake, Va.
Deputies were holding the men in the Cumberland County Detention Center on charges of felony possession of stolen property. The men will be extradited to Virginia, officials said.
The men are also wanted, officials said, in Greensboro and in Pennsylvania, Maryland and South Carolina.
