Staley, N.C. — A person was shot late Monday in Chatham County, dispatchers said.
Chatham County sheriff's deputies and emergency medical responders were called to 2234 Stockyard Road just before 5 p.m. Preliminary reports indicated the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
The victim's name and condition were not immediately available.
