Kelly Morris, of Stem
Kelly Morris, of Stem

About 40 volunteers kept up the search Sunday for a Granville County woman who went missing more than 10 weeks ago.

Search party members met at the Berea Fire Department in Oxford Sunday morning to look for signs pointing to the fate of Kelly Morris, 28, of Stem.

The mother of two was last seen Sept 3. The next day, deputies found her car, keys, purse and cell phone in an undeveloped subdivision, shortly after firefighters responded to a fire at her home, 3220 Tump Wilkins Road.

The Granville County Sheriff's Office has named Morris' husband, Scott, as a person of interest in her disappearance. The office has six detectives devoted to the case.

The high-profile group, Texas EquuSearch, was joining the search by foot and horseback Sunday. Volunteers switched their focus to northern Granville after searching the southern part of the county.

EquuSearch asked anyone who owns hand-dug wells within 40 miles of Stem to contact them.

Kelly Morris’ family is offering a $30,000 reward for information that leads to finding her. Anyone with tips can call volunteers at 919-812-2310 and e-mail helpfindkelly@gmail.com.

Detectives have asked anyone with information about the fire or Morris' disappearance to contact them at 919-693-3213.

Hopefully this family will get some closure soon on their search and know that the entire community is praying for them!

Prayers for this family, geez still no answers, I hope they find her soon! Hang in there family.

A Hand made well, does not look like a bucket can go down it, some do, but a lot of them look like a round above ground well, with tops on them. In Stem (which I live) we have many of these!!!!! So many of them are in the middle of the woods at old home places, that may have been empty for 10 to 20 years now. I think it would be smart to get together with some of the hunting clubs in the area and see if they know of any that may have not been checked yet. My prayers as always are with the family!!!! I hope JUSTICE comes to your family soon!

A hand-dug well would be one of the old-fashioned kind where a bucket can go down in a pit on the end of a rope. A person could fall in, if the cover or surrounding wall had been removed or destroyed.

I know that sometimes Kelly's friends and family are on Golo. Just wanted ya'll to know that I am hoping and praying for closure. I can only imagine how discouraging this whole ordeal has been for you. I hope justice will prevail.
