Pedestrian hit on Orange County road

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries Friday morning after he was struck by a vehicle on New Sharon Church Road near Bill Poole Road in northeastern Orange County, state troopers and EMS workers said.

The accident was reported at 8:49 a.m., the Highway Patrol said.

A helicopter flew the victim to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, but no condition was immediately available.

Troopers were investigating and did not have other details, including the man's identity, Friday morning.

So was he hurt AFTER the car hit him or WHEN the car hit him. Would be really bad luck to be hit by a car and be ok and then be injured AFTER by something else.
