Woman dies after DWI wreck

A Raleigh woman died Wednesday from injuries suffered in a head-on collision Sunday, police said.

Judylynn Jean Zamber, 32, was southbound on Capital Boulevard near the Wakefield development at about 12:30 Sunday when her 1994 Infiniti collided head-on with a 2008 Toyota driven by Jennifer Faye Burnette, police said.

Burnette, 38, of Norfolk, Va., turned left from Common Oaks Drive onto Capital Boulevard and was driving north in the southbound lanes when the wreck occurred, police said.

Zamber died Wednesday, and Burnette was listed in good condition Thursday at WakeMed.

Burnette was initially charged with driving while impaired and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. Police said they would meet with prosecutors to determine whether to upgrade the charges because of Zamber's death.

Does anyone know how the driver died? I thought that she was in "good condition".

I don't know how this post could be similar to one of my previous posts... I have never posted before!

Ok, everyone...The driver has died. Has she paid her price now?? Don't be so quick to judge people. God has a plan for everyone. God Bless both families for their loss.

And it amazes me how some people have already had convictions and continue to drive drunk. Uggh it just makes me sick.

"Nevertheless, why does it always seem the innocent person dies in DWI crashes?"

I wonder the same thing. The drunk usually does not have any injuries and does not die. But, the innocent one either gets hurt really bad or dies. I just hate that and why can't people sit down somewhere when they are drunk? I have been tipsy plenty of times and I will not drive to the next destination. Just wait...call a cab. do something because take someone else's life.
