A Dunn man has been charged with slashing the tires of several vehicles outside Crown Coliseum last week during a rally featuring Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Timothy Michael Strickland, 18, of the 8300 block of Norris Road, was cited with 11 counts of willful injury to personal property. Juvenile detectives with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office also are questioning a 15-year-old in the case, but no charges have been filed yet.

Investigators said Strickland and the 15-year old randomly targeted vehicles for vandalism as a prank. The tire-slashings were not politically motivated, authorities said.

"may have to re-read his screen name. Obama is not from modest means. He is VERY wealthy." - Obama is wealthy NOW but did not grow up wealthy like Bush or McCain. Michelle Obama grew up on the same side of Chicago where Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother were just killed. Stop the propaganda...

thinkb4uspeak - may have to re-read his screen name. Obama is not from modest means. He is VERY wealthy. He hangs out with the richest man in the world. You do not get to hang out with him if you are (dare i say) Joe the plumber. Humility is a character issue and is hardly revealed in the running of a political race, so not to sure where you get that from. Now if you expect his wife to say something against her husband who is running for president of the US then again I say - read your screen name. He did back the bailout plan. The first time as well. He gained their confidence in the same way deperate housewives has - marketing. And Marketing is packaging, presenting a package, that usually is not the full story.

Or we can make yo an offer you can't refuse.. HAHAHA

For the first time in my eligible voting days, I see a candidate who genuinely and passionately wants to serve the American people and not just himself, and his constituents. I see a humble candidate, from modest means, who has endured the personal trials comparable to that of the average american. When Lsrry King asked Michelle Obama what angers Barack, she offered stories about Barack's anger with the health insurance industry. She spoke of how frustrated he felt that teachers, construction workers and the rest of middle america struggles daily while Wall Street is bailed out. I don't get the impression that he is simply performing lip service as every other politician has/does. I honestly believe he is committed to accomplishing his agenda. He has successfully enthused young voters, united people across demographic lines and gained much of America's confidence despite allegations of him not being experienced. And he has upset Mccain in every debate. Obama for mankind!

megatraum, says that these "idiots" "asked" for the vandalism of their own cars because they had "political bumper stickers".

Unbelievable.

Does anyone else here agree with megatraum's anti-American, blame-the-victim mentality? I mean, is this the world under McCain and his supporters? ...where a person cannot exercise his Constitutional rights without fear of repercussion? ...where there are self-appointed authorities tellin' us to watch our behave-yah if we know whats good fer us.
