CALDWELL, N.C. — A two-vehicle wreck killed one person and injured seven others Thursday afternoon in rural northeastern Orange County.
State troopers said that a minivan going north on Guess Road/N.C. Highway 157 ran a stop sign at N.C. Highway 57 shortly before 5 p.m. The minivan hit the side of a car going east on N.C. 57 and spun around in the intersection.
Minivan passenger Saul Solis-Morales, 22, of Durham, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The seven other people were taken to Durham hospitals. The extent of their injuries was unknown.
Troopers said they plan to charge the minivan's driver, whose name was withheld.
