Johnston County, N.C. — A Virginia man was cited for failing to maintain lane control during an accident on Interstate 40 in Johnston County on Saturday, the state Highway Patrol said.
A damage-only accident was reported around 1:30 p.m. in the median near mile-marker 319.
As traffic slowed due to that accident, a van lost control and sideswiped another van before flipping down an embankment.
All three people in the first van were taken to local hospitals with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the van, Robert Foote of Virginia, was cited for failing to maintain lane control.
No injuries were reported in the second van.
