Kelly Morris, of Stem

The Granville County Sheriff's Office grounded the helicopter search for a missing Stem woman Wednesday due to poor flying conditions, a spokeswoman said.

The search for Kelly Morris continues on the ground and in bodies of water.

Morris's car was found about a mile away from her burning home last week. She had last been seen the previous night, authorities said.

Authorities and dozens of volunteers searched the woods near Morris's home Tuesday and distributed fliers while holding onto hope that the 28-year-old mother of two will be found alive.

"We are turning anything over. We're looking in wells, ponds – anything, anywhere," Truitt Thompson, a family friend, said.

Police found Morris's burgundy 2005 Honda Accord (North Carolina license plate TXP-5917), keys, purse and cell phone Thursday in an undeveloped subdivision, shortly after firefighters responded to a fire at her home, 3220 Tump Wilkins Road.

Investigators say there was no sign that Morris was in her home when it burned. Her husband and two children were not at home at the time of the fire.

Granville County sheriff's investigators are asking anyone with information about the fire or Morris' disappearance to contact them at 919-693-3213.

Please know that alot of people are praying for her safe return. Not knowing is hard when you cannot find your child.

So scary how many of these are happening these days!

The ATF is involved with anything fire-related.

Is the ATF involved in the fire in Vance County where the woman burned up in the house too??

"Did anyone catch on to the fact that the ATF is also involved?? ABC 11 reported that... ATF?? They don't usually get involved unless there is really something going on...."

ATF gets involved when a fire is involved

"Ground search also called off? What? No ground search? WOW!"

There has been serval ground, air, and water searchs.

"also they did get his roll back and impound it"

Stop spreading rumors, his roll back has NOT been impounded..It is still being used for work.

" he was seen riding around in Butner on Friday by himself"

Of course he rides around in that area, he lives in that area.
