More than three dozen members of Duke University's 2006 men's lacrosse team insist they suffered emotional distress in the wake of a stripper's allegations she was raped and sexually assaulted by three members in March 2006.

That's the claim their Washington attorney, Charles Cooper, makes in court documents filed last week to fight attempts to dismiss the case.

Thirty-eight players filed the lawsuit in February against Duke, Durham, police investigators and a sexual assault nurse who examined exotic dancer Crystal Mangum. They allege the defendants' actions caused and prolonged the emotional stress during the 13-month investigation involving their teammates – David Evans, Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann.
Cooper wants a hearing on the matter.

Duke, Durham and others named in the lawsuit filed a motion in May asking that it be dismissed, saying the players have failed to show the injuries they allege.

I can't wait until Crystal Mangum's book comes out and we can find out the TRUTH! (kidding) Seriously, though, they should have allowed her to write it herself and send out the unedited version. THAT would be some incomprehensible entertainment!

EXACTLY coach, those boys were put down and talked trash about in every corner and they have yet to get an apology from anyone who was trash talking. i believe in standing up for anyone who is right. stand up for what you believe.but i dont believe, IMO, that there should be a Black Panthers, NAACP, etc. i think in todays society, such groups are not necessary, and we should move on to simply standing up for "right" instead of "race"....

everyone is known by someone, so yes, i believe their reps were damaged by her lies. she has yet to show her face and admit she was wrong. look at the humiliation those young men had to face when innocent, and she knew all along she was lying and let it happen. she should have dont jail time for wasting our tax dollars at the least! and she should have been forced to show her face and admit her wrong doings...i dont think those boys are hurting financially, they are pretty well with their families, BUT it doesnt change how crystal mangum drug them all thru the mud just for the sake of getting herself some attention and sympathy!

Waaah waaah waaah Duke lacrosse players. You don't deserve a dime.

where is the apology from the duke faculty who took out an ad to condemn the actions of the lacrosse team? Where is the apology from liar,Crystal Gayle Mangum? where is the apology from the naacp who supported the liar? guess when you support a minority liar its ok what happens
