Durham, N.C. — Crime Stoppers of Durham is offering a reward for information leading to arrests in two robberies near the Chapel Towers Apartments.
Three people parked outside the Chapel Towers rental office at 1315 Morreene Road were approached by a man who demanded money around noon on Saturday, according to Durham Police. The man took $60 and fled on foot. He was described as a black man in his late teens to early 20s, with a small to medium build and short hair. He was wearing jeans and an orange shirt, witnesses said.
The second robbery happened on Sunday, just outside the complex. A police spokeswoman said a man with a similar description, this time wearing a white tank top and gray sweatpants, demanded money from two people along Morreene Road around 2 p.m.
Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call Durham Police Detective V.M. Figueroa at 919-560-1020, ext. 227 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
