The N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert on Friday for a missing Orange County man.

Joshua McCabe Bailey, 20, is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Bailey is described as a white man, 5-foot-8 and about 130 pounds. He has short, black hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts and black leather shoes.

Bailey was last seen on Weaver Street in Carrboro on July 21, officers said.

Bailey’s direction of travel is unknown. Authorities said it is possible he is traveling in a white 1993 Ford Explorer with North Carolina tag number "XTK-3273."

Anyone with information about Bailey should call Investigator Tim Horne at the Orange County Sheriff's Office at 919-644-3050.

It is concerning that someone does not deem this individual's medical conditions serious enough to warrant attention, as we do. This young man is ill - and - right now his family and friends are broken hearted and concerned because they know him well enough to know he has not "run from any problems" - unless someone knows of some we don't?

Why do they abuse the silver alert system? What ever happened to running away from your problems?

Orange County is a problem.

Why has it taken so long for him to reported missing???!!
