KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Rangers in Great Smoky Mountains National Park are pretty sure they have caught the black bear that attacked an 8-year-old Florida boy and his father earlier this month.
After the attack was reported, rangers were charged by a bear in the same area. They shot that bear.
In the bear's stomach, mMedical examiners found part of a shoe matching those worn by John Pala. Pala had reported losing his shoes while trying to fight the bear as it attacked his son.
