Knightdale, N.C. — Two bicyclists were hit by a truck driven by a drunken driver Monday evening near Knightdale, the Highway Patrol said.
It happened at about 7 p.m. at the intersection of Rolesville and Todd roads.
The bicyclists were taken to WakeMed.
Troopers withheld the victims' names and conditions.
Jeffrey Lynn Price, 6708 Bethany Church Road in Wendell, was charged with driving while impaired. He was also driving with a revoked license because of a prior DWI, troopers said.
He was also charged with failure to decrease speed to avoid a collision.
Troopers were deciding whether to also charge Price with hit-and-run since he left the scene and went home, according to the magistrate's office.
His court date is set for Sept. 17. Price is out of jail on custody release, officials said.

Well, consider that this DWI story only has 25 posts when I am posting. If the guy had a more Spanish sounding name there would likely be 225 posts. Now a lot of posters are very concerned with that legal issue and rightly so, but why are these same posters not sounding out on this legal issue?
I have to say the same thing here to the people who were complaining about bicyclists. This case happened to involved cyclists. Yes, many cyclists are irritating and do not follow proper procedures. They overshadow the majority who do, you just don't notice the good ones as much.
But this story is about a DWI repeat offender. Period. Cyclists were involved this time, but it might have just as easily been kids at a bus stop, or a car full of people on their way to church.
We can't deport citizens, but in the case of DWI, I wish we could.
