Durham, N.C. — A two-vehicle briefly closed U.S. Highway 70 in Durham and injured four people on Saturday night.
Police said that one car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it clipped another car on U.S. 70, near Cheek Road, around 8:30 p.m. Both drivers lost control of their vehicles, and one car ran off to the right side of the road and the other, to the left.
Officers closed U.S. 70 for about 15 minutes as paramedics brought the victims across the highway.
The four victims complained of neck and back injuries and were transported to Duke Hospital.
