Fayetteville, N.C. — Detectives are warning Fayetteville residents about a scam involving cashier’s checks.
The scam involves an e-mail sent to the victim advising them to follow every detailed step in order to receive an “overdraft cashier cheque." The victim is then instructed to cash the check and return a portion to the sender.
Citizens in all counties are urged to disregard these e-mails.
