Raleigh, N.C. — A Wake County grand jury handed down indictments Wednesday against a man police say swallowed heroin.

Paramedics took Ochunkwo Ezikpe Ogbuanu, 43, to the hospital June 17. Surgeons removed bags containing more than a pound of heroin from his body.

Ogbuanu is charged with felony trafficking in heroin by possession and felony trafficking in heroin by transportation, both felonies.
