The Army is investigating the death of a soldier on Fort Bragg last month as a homicide, officials said Monday.

The body of Pfc. Luke J. Brown, 27, of Fredericksburg, Va., was found in a car in a parking lot off Bastogne Drive on post on July 20.

Brown was an intelligence analyst assigned to Headquarters Company. He had been a member of the 82nd Airborne Division since January and had joined the Army a year earlier.

A military medical examiner in Washington, D.C., performed an autopsy, but the cause of death hasn't been released.

The Army's Criminal Investigation Command is investigating Brown's death. No information on any suspects or a possible motive was released.

Brown is the third Fort Bragg soldier slain in recent weeks.

Spc. Megan Touma was found dead in a Fayetteville motel room on June 21. A sergeant assigned to the post was charged last week with her death.

The remains of 2nd Lt. Holley Wimunc were found in Onslow County on July 13. Her estranged husband, a Camp Lejeune Marine, has been charged with murder.

What is going on w/ gi's lately? Are they messed up from the war, or just messed up? It is sad to see all this and i live a few miles from the place. it is all senseless.

Faeytteville was named one of the Top 25 towns Most Dangerous Cities for 2007. Guess Fort Bragg's Command wants to help take it to First Place. {no offense to the troops, this insult is strictly for Command and Leadership} A soldier was found dead in his car about a year ago on Person Street in front on Family Dollar. I'm still waiting to hear cause of death from someone.

Let us not forget Ft Bragg was named in Spet 2004 to have the ''highest rate'' of children age 0 to 10 killed by parents and caregivers in a 16 year study. Bragg Command solution was to KILL THE NEWS. Bragg had put themselves in for 2 awards and these pesky child deaths wasn't to screw them up. It didn't. Ft Bragg was named One of Top 100 SAFEST and Best Places for Kids by Colin Powell's America's Promise to Kids. Gasp!

Seems Bragg doesn't need to send its soldiers overseas to put them in danger.

Praying for them all and for their loved ones.

God bless.

Rev. RB

TELL EM TIRED, I HAVE LIVED IN "FAYETTENAM" ALL MY LIFE AND LOVE IT! IM GLAD I DONT LIVE IN RALEIGH OR DURHAM! ATLEAST I HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF GOING TO THE MALL AND NOT GETTING INTO A GANG RIOT OR GETTING SHOT ON THE CORNER BY A RIVAL GANG! ATLEAST ALL THE VIOLENCE DOWN HERE IS SOLDIER RELATED!

This is very sad. A man goes to war and fights for his country and ends up being found dead in his car. I wonder if he was married? I have a feeling there will be more to come on this. For all of you Fayetteville haters, it's no more violent or dangerous than Raleigh or Durham.
