Smithfield, N.C. — Water customers in parts of Smithfield were asked to boil water, beginning at 11 p.m. Wednesday.
The Highway 301 South area from Galilee Road to Country Club Drive is impacted.
Officials said crews are repairing a broken water main, which causes water to sit in the pipe.
Smithfield is suggesting people in that area boil their water until the tests come back, just to make sure it is safe.
