Warrant sealed in Michelle Young case

e-mail print friendly

A search warrant in the case of a murdered Wake County woman was sealed in June – almost a year after the search was conducted.

Police searched an unspecific location related to the death of Michelle Young in July 2007, but never returned the warrant to the court saying what evidence they had found.

Under the existing policy for warrants in Wake County, any warrant not ordered sealed "shall be made available for public inspection" after the warrants is served and executed.

The warrant in the Young case was never made public. The request to seal the warrant did not come until June 5 – almost a year after the search.

Superior Court Judge Donald W. Stephens ordered the warrant sealed for 180 days.

Young's sister, Meredith Fisher, found the 29-year-old pregnant mother in the bedroom of the house on the morning of Nov. 3, 2006, beaten to death.

Crime scene investigators spent more than a week at the scene collecting evidence from the home Michelle Young shared with her husband, Jason, and 2-year-old daughter.

After the crime, Jason Young and his daughter moved to western North Carolina to be closer to his family.

Authorities have not named any suspects in the case, but according to other court documents, Jason Young has been a focus of the investigation.

I agree with howdiditgettothis, how about turning up the heat on Jason Young? What is he doing in the mountains? Where does he work? And what about his parents, who gave him that alibi? And what about his *girlfriend* in Florida was it? This case must be solved. That poor little girl has lost her mother, forever.

Come on Donnie??? How about come on D.A.'s Office.

Prayers for Michelle's family and friends that closure will be reached in this very sad case.

Shame and judgement on Jason and his family.

That poor child will never know the sacrifices her mother made for her, or what a special person she was.

Someone needs to turn the heat up on the investigation, although I'm sure that plenty is being done that we don't know about.

Get to work, WRAL. How about an update on what Jason is doing with his free time? Is he employed? Where is he staying? Someone knows the answers.........

Keeping the Faith. *Prayers for Michelle*

So Jason is still the focus of the investigation. How nice. Is he also still refusing to allow Michelle's family to have any contact at all with Cassidy?

And why in the world would an innocent man want to deprive his wife's family of the one remaining piece of her left in the world?

Come on, Donnie Harrison, we're waiting.
