Clinton, N.C. — The Sampson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a local man late Monday in a weekend shooting death.
Xavier Edison Moore, 23, of 169 Franklin Lane in Clinton, was charged with murder and was being held without bond in the Sampson County Detention Center.
The body of Bobby Revels, 58, was found inside a mobile home in Clinton Saturday morning. Authorities said Revels had been shot in the head and torso.
Investigators interviewed friends of Revels and and determined that he and Moore were involved in an altercation that escalated into gunfire, authorities said.
