Man shot, flags down motorist for help

Durham police were investigating a shooting that happened Thursday night.

Durham Regional Hospital staff called officers at 10:32 p.m. after a passing motorist dropped off a man who had been shot in the buttocks.

His life was not in danger, police said.

The man told police he was walking westbound on Horton Road from Thames Avenue when he heard a single gunshot and realized that he had been shot .

He then walked into the road and flagged down a passing motorist, who took the man to the hospital.

Officers said they did not have any motives or suspect descriptions.They withheld the victim's name.
