Raleigh, N.C. — Traffic flow along McDowell Street near the new downtown convention center will return to normal next week, officials said.
Lanes had been shifted to the left between Lenoir and Davie streets to accommodate construction on the convention center, but they will be moved back to their original configuration next Tuesday. Officials said the move would allow final road construction to be complete in three weeks.
Motorists were urged to remain alert, use caution and obey the 25-mph speed limit when driving through the work zone for the convention center.
The grand opening of the 500,000-square-foot convention center is scheduled for Sept. 5-6.
