Public help sought to ID Pizza Hut robber

Police on Tuesday requested public assistance to identify a man who robbed a local Pizza Hut last week.

A masked man entered the Pizza Hut at 12239 Capital Blvd. at about 11:45 p.m. Friday wielding a semiautomatic handgun, police said. He obtained an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot, police said.

Police described the robber as a black man with broad shoulders, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing 250 to 260 pounds. He was wearing black jeans, a black, short-sleeved shirt, a dark ball cap and a black cloth garment over part of his face. Employees also told police the man had bulging eyes.

Police also want to question a man who entered the restaurant minutes before the robbery. He was described as slender black man in his mid-20s, 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 160 to 170 pounds. He was wearing a black, short-sleeved shirt and a blue ball cap.

The robbery might be related to a string of hold-ups at Pizza Huts throughout the area in recent weeks, police said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Wake Forest Police Department at 919-554-6162 or 919-556-9111.
