Raeford, N.C. — A Hoke County man was arrested Thursday on child exploitation charges after child pornography was found on several computers and various computer discs, authorities said.

Travis Termaine Gibson, 28, of 105 Wrights Mobile Home Park, Lot 9 in Raeford, was charged with 16 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 15 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was being held Friday in the Hoke County Jail under a $500,000 bond.

The State Bureau of Investigation Computer Crimes Unit initiated an investigation after learning large amounts of child pornography was being shared over the Internet, authorities said. Several computers and CDs were seized, and they were found to contain illicit images, authorities said.

Federal charges are expected to be filed in the case upon completion of the investigation, authorities said.
