An elderly man, who police said was missing for almost a week, was found dead in his own back yard on Sunday.

Police said family members found the body of In Ki Sung, 78, in the back yard of his home at 509 Killeen Road around 11:15 a.m.

On Thursday, police asked for the public's help in locating Sung, who had last been seen on Monday.

Officers said they were concerned for Sung, because he had asthma and did not have his inhaler with him. Sung spoke only Korean.

Details about the investigation into Sung's death were still emerging Sunday afternoon.

How could someone not have searched the entire house and yard at all during that time? If he was outside and had a severe asthma attack with the air quality we've had, I can understand that, especially being that I have asthma too. I know how the poor air quality has affected me. But how in the world can a man be reported missing and no one searched the yard. It would be interesting to know if the yard had been searched and then he "appeared" afterwards.

Rest in peace, Sun.

I brought this mans address up on Google and changed over to imagery. Looks like he lived in a regular subdivision, houses on both sides with a small yard. Only 3 things could have happened here.

1: No one looked in this mans back yard. 2: Someone put him there recently. 3: He did go missing and returned home after he was reported missing only to die in his back yard.

I would venture to say that judging by the size of the yard (small), having neighbors on both sides that can see into the backyard, and the fact that he had asthma (didn't have inhaler on him) with the intense heat and humidity along with poor air quaility during the time he went missing, he had an asthma attack in the backyard where he passed away sadly.

Step one in a missing child or elderly person is throughly check the entire house and yard before expanding the search. I'm hoping there was very tall grass as someone suggested. Why wasn't a K-9 called in to assist with the search? Too many unanswered questions.

My God be with the family no matter the outcome!

More excellent police detective work... NOT!
