Police find car of suspect in pregnant woman's slaying

Raleigh, N.C. — Police on Wednesday said they had found a white Lexus they believe was driven by a suspect in the homicide of a former Shaw University student, but the alleged killer remained at large.

Khaleel A. Oyeneyin, 22, is charged in the slaying of Corinnie D. Broadway, 21, inside her Larson Drive home on Saturday.

Officers found Oyeneyin's 1995 Lexus GS 300 on Pillory Place in north Raleigh on Tuesday night.

Police also said that an autopsy had confirmed that Broadway was pregnant.

Her friends said that Oyeneyin was Broadway's boyfriend and that he killed her because she had recently found out about her pregnancy.

Broadway was a student at Shaw University until last fall. Friends said she wanted to get a degree in social work.

Anyone with information that might assist in locating Oyeneyin was asked to call Raleigh police at 919-890-3555 or Crime Stoppers at 919-226-CRIME. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information in felony cases, and callers do not have to identify themselves.

Please don't blame this on God that he wasn't around. Blame it on the hate that is in the world. Everyone is so quick to blame God, but put the blame squarely where it belongs...on the human who made the conscious decision to take another life. No, I can't explain why it happened, but it did. People hate God, people hate people, but God doesn't hate people.

Your god didn't show up for work again, and that's why this young lady is no longer with us. I really hate to hear about things like this myself, but there are many of us who are realists.

Maybe it wasn't his baby? Just a thought. Still doesn't give him a right to do what he's accused of doing. Hope he's caught soon as he could do it again if someone makes him mad.
