Police link robbery suspect to more hold-ups

Raleigh, N.C. — A man suspected of robbing three Subway restaurants in recent months is now considered a suspect in at least two other robberies, police said.

A Bojangles' restaurant was robbed early Thursday when an armed man forced an employee opening the restaurant to hand over money. Capital Food Mart, at 2929 Capital Blvd., was robbed on May 24 by a man carrying a gun.

Subway restaurants on Durant Road, Capital Boulevard and Six Forks Road were robbed between January and early May.

The robber in all the cases has been described as a black man, perhaps in his 20s, who stands about 6 feet tall and is of athletic build. He has worn various clothing items during the robberies and typically has had his head covered with either a cap or a hooded sweatshirt.

During the Bojangles' robbery, he wore a gray long-sleeve shirt over a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a camouflage bandanna.

Because the Bojangles' was robbed before opening and three of the other robberies occurred near closing time, police have urged employees working in similar establishments to exercise additional caution during those times and to report any suspicious activity to police.
