Durham, N.C. — Police were seeking the public's help identifying three people who might be connected to the shooting of a man at a restaurant Sunday night.

The victim, a 28-year-old man, and several friends were at Plaza Garibaldi restaurant on Foushee Street around 10:30 p.m. He noticed a man harassing a female employee and asked the second man to leave her alone.

The second man, who appeared to be intoxicated, shot the victim several times in the torso.

The victim was taken to Duke University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

The suspect was seen leaving in a green, four-door sedan with another man and woman. He had been at Plaza Garibaldi since mid-afternoon, police said.

Officers described him as a Hispanic male in his late 20s, with a medium build, standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was clean shaven and wore a beige cowboy hat, a white T-shirt, dark brown dress pants, tan cowboy boots and a large gold belt buckle.

The second man in the car was described as Hispanic, thin and in his 20s. He wore a white shirt, tan pants and cowboy boots.

The woman in the car was described as Hispanic, in her 20s, with a dark complexion. She stood 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed approximately 175 pounds.
