Chapel Hill, N.C. — A 19-year-old motorcyclist was injured during a single-vehicle wreck on Saturday night.
The teen was traveling south on Neville Road when he ran off the road near Oasis Drive, said state Trooper Joseph Sharlow. The motorcycle overturned several times.
The driver was taken to UNC Hospitals for treatment.
Sharlow said he did not think speed or alcohol were a factor in causing the wreck. Although the teen had had a couple drinks earlier, he was not impaired and did not exceed legal limits, the trooper said.
The driver has been charged with exceeding a safe speed and underage consumption of alcohol. Troopers withheld his name, pending notification of family.
